Welcome to this weeks newsletter.
Voting for my Christmas Card Competition is now open. I have had so many amazing entries this year, and picking just 8 was very difficult. I have tried to take into account age and to ensure all areas of the constituency are included. Vote for your favourite either by liking your favourite on my Facebook page:

I met with the Health Secretary this week to talk about the proposed rebuild of Leighton Hospital - ensuring it is a top priority. I have long been pushing for Leighton to be rebuilt as the building is long past its life span. We need a new hospital fit for the future! Support my campaign here:

I also met with the Rail Minister to discuss the future of GBR. You may have seen in the news that the Government is reconsidering the proposed new organisation that would run the UK's railways from a base outside London. I was reassured that the Government is committed to rail reform and ensuring that decision are made out of London to better reflect the country as a whole with staff based at Crewe or one of the other GBR competition finalists.
I also had a meeting with the developers of Nantwich Skate Park to discuss the plans final designs. We are doing to organise a session next month where users can come and see final design options to choose from.
It was fantastic to catch up with the team from men's mental health charity Mentell to hear about their work in our local area. It was great to hear that over 80 local men are signed up and receiving support from them.
My surgery in Haslington last week was very productive. I hold these surgeries regularly to give residents a chance to bring any issues they have to me directly. I can also provide help over email or by phone (kieran.mullan.mp@parliament.uk 01270 583 432).
Finally, Mid-Cheshire Hospitals Charity have announced a series of festive fundraisers. Find out more about these here:

Voting for my Christmas Card Competition is now open! Thank you to everyone who has sent in a design. It was very very hard to choose the finalists which I've done taking into account age and getting the whole constituency involved.
These are the finalists and what I like about them.
1. Erin - Millfields Primary School and Nursery - Year 4: I thought the face of this Christmas friend was beautifully crafted!

Meeting With Health Secretary
In Parliament, I met with Steve Barclay, the Health Secretary, regarding the proposed rebuild of Leighton Hospital - making sure it on the top of his list of priorities.
Leighton Hospital was built in the 1970’s and was never planned to still be in use today. It has benefited from a number of big investments in new theatres and other facilities, including recently the £15 million being invested into A&E. But the reality is, add on blocks and new facilities can only take you so far. Leighton needs a fundamental rebuild. It will also be a chance to grow the hospital to meet the population increase we have seen locally over recent years.

Meeting With Rail Minister
I have a had a meeting with the Rail Minister to discuss the future of Great British Railways - the organisation which Crewe has bid to be the headquarters of.
You may have heard in the news that the Government is reconsidering GBR. While a final decision is yet to be made, the Minister assured me that the Government is committed to rail reform and creating a new base for rail staff at one of the final six locations in the GBR competition.
Of course, I will continue to push for investment into Crewe.
Nantwich Skate Park
This week I had a first meeting with the developers of Nantwich Skate Park, Canvass, to discuss the final designs for the park on the Barony. It was great to also have future users of the park also come along to pass on their ideas directly and we agreed a session for users next month to choose from final design options
Mentell
I had a meeting with local charity, Mentell, to be updated on the work they are doing in the area. Mentell provides support for men aged 18+ to talk in a safe and confidential space, free from advice and judgement.
They currently have over 84 men in Crewe signed up for Mentell, either in-person or online support. 21 local pubs and bars are also supporting the 'turn your bar blue campaign' to raise awareness of men's mental health.
Find out more about this campaign here:
https://www.mentell.org.uk/campaigns/turn-your-bar-blue
They are still looking for more local men who would like to learn how to become a facilitator for their in-person group at the YMCA.

Haslington Surgery
I had a very productive surgery in Haslington on Friday - helping local residents with their issues. Thank you very much to Haslington Cricket Club for kindly letting us use their facilities. Also thank you to local Cllr Steve Edgar and Parish Councillor Alison Heler for joining us.
I regularly hold these surgeries around the constituency, and will advertise the next one shortly.
In the meantime, if you have any issue that I could help with please get in touch by emailing me at kieran.mullan.mp@parliament.uk or call 01270 583 432.
