Welcome to this week's newsletter.
This week is carers week, where we recognise the important work of unpaid carers up and down the country. They are selfless individuals who spend their time helping family members, friends and neighbours who are in need. Thank you for all that you do.
The Government has announced a series of measures to help unlock the potential of our rural communities. This includes a 7 million investment in rural internet connectivity and allowing more innovation in the farming and tourism industries. Transport will also be improved, ensuring these areas are accessible for local residents and work.
This week marked the 79th anniversary of the D-Day landings. It is important that we never forget the sacrifice that brave allied soldiers made, fighting to free Europe from tyranny.
Finally, I have had Isabella from Shavington join my office this week for work experience. Read on below to find out more about here experience. Thank you for all of your hard work!

Carers Week
This week is Carers Week.
Unpaid carers do inspiring work, helping family members, friends and neighbours in need - without a second thought. Thank you for the vital work that you do.
It is important that carers also get the help that they need. The Government is continuing to support improved rights for carers - as enshrined in the Carer's Act. Carers are also entitled to certain benefits - such as carers allowance, which has recently been increased to £76.75 per week.
The Government's Social Care White Paper also outlined plans for a number of new measures - including £25 Million to boost services for unpaid carers.
In addition, we are lucky to have plenty of resources available locally for carers - from coffee mornings and events to training and one-on-one support.

Unleashing Rural Opportunity
Rural areas and their communities have a lot of potential. They are seen as the backbone of the UK and should be able to maintain a special character of beautiful landscapes while also being able to develop technology, transport and more.
The government has announced a new £7 million fund to help the rural community and support farmers. This includes proposals to expand internet and satellite signals and give access to fast, reliable connectivity in remote areas for the first time. This will help to enhance farming technologies, for example, using drone technology to monitor livestock and more.
There are also plans to improve local transport networks - upgrading access to services, tackling isolation and increasing access to jobs in rural and remote areas. There will also be a consultation on reforming grant funding for bus operators to help them keep fares low ad service levels high, supporting the protection of vital rural routes.

D-Day 79th Anniversary
This week marked the 79th Anniversary of the D-Day landings. Over 156,000 allied troops - including 61,000 British personnel - took part in the operation which began the liberation of Europe.
Thanks to the brave heroes who took part, the war came to an end and Europe was freed.
We must never forget their sacrifice.
Work Experience - Isabella
This week Isabella from Shavington join my office this week for work experience. She wrote the article below about here experience. Thank you for all of your hard work!
During my week of work experience, I have been able to look into how an MP's office runs and how much responsibility the office has.
As soon as I started on Monday, I was instantly welcomed by all of the staff and thrown into some really engaging tasks. I had the opportunity to deal with numerous cases, write a social media post, attend a team meeting and learn how to use a variety of office equipment.
On Friday, I attended a meeting with Kieran to a local charity, Cheshire Without Abuse, where I learned even more about the issues local constiuents face and how they are handled. It was incredibly special to be a part of and was really great to see Kieran in action supporting local businesses and more.
Overall, I had an incredibly informative week working for my local MP and his team in a productive and friendly environment. I look forward to reapplying the skills I've learned into everyday life and I'm very grateful to the whole team for immediately making me feel like part of the office.
