Today is Armistice Day, where we remember those who gave their lives for our future. It was an honour to pay tribute to the brave service men and women on behalf of Crewe and Nantwich at the Parliamentary Garden of Remembrance. I will also be at Crewe Memorial Square on Sunday to lay a wreath during the remembrance ceremony.
This week, millions of households will begin to receive the next instalment of the Cost of Living Payment. This £324 payment is aimed at the lowest income households to help with increase in prices. It will be made automatically, so no need to apply. This website explains all the different help available:

I am working with Friends of Barony Park to try and get the timber and compost we need to put some raised flower beds on the Barony! A member of staff at Reaseheath is potentially going to be able to help if we can get the materials donated. Please get in touch if you or someone you know could help with timber, compost or flowers.
It was announced earlier this week that there will be an additional bank holiday to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. The Platinum Jubilee this summer was a great opportunity to bring communities together - I imagine it will be even better next year!
If you missed it last week don't forget you can still give your feedback on the Pocket Parks revamp in Crewe:

Armistice Day
Today is Armistice Day, where we fall silent to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy the freedoms that we have today.
I went to the Parliamentary memorial garden to lay a cross in remembrance of all those in Crewe and Nantwich who gave their lives in war.
On Sunday I will be at the Memorial Square in Crewe to lay a wreath in a ceremony as the country fall silent in remembrance at 11 am. The memorial in Crewe lists the names of over 500 local military personnel who lost their lives in various conflicts. You can read about the stories of some of the brave men listed on this memorial, and on others around Cheshire, here:

Cost of Living Payment - Arriving From This Week
From this week, 1 in 4 UK families will receive £324 as part of the latest cost of living payment.
This is aimed at low-income households and is to help with the increased cost of living. The payment will be made automatically to all who are eligible - no need to apply.
This is on top of the other forms of support, such as the £400 off energy bills, the £150 Council Tax rebate and the previous £326 payment given to eligible households.

Coronation Bank Holiday
This week it was announced that we will be getting an additional bank holiday next year for the Coronation of King Charles III.
The coronation will take place on Saturday 6th May and we will have the additional bank holiday on Monday 8th May.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for the country, as well as local communities to come together in celebration. I remember how good it was this summer when we celebrated the Platinum Jubilee of the Queen to pay tribute to her 70 years on the throne. I can’t wait to get involved in the celebrations for our new King next year.
