Welcome to this week's newsletter.
Have your say on the Crewe Pocket Parks upgrade! As part of the Crewe Town Deal, funding has been made available to make 8 pocket parks across Crewe more attractive and better places for local residents to spend time. Let me know how you think they should be improve by filling out the survey:

This week I appeared on LBC's Cross Question with Iain Dale to talk about the major news stories of the day. You can go back and watch the show here:

If you are over 50 you will now be able to get your winter Flu Vaccine and Covid Booster. It is important to get these to keep you as safe as possible over the winter months. Find out more here:

This week was International Trade Week. One of the main advantages of Brexit is that we are now able to sign trade deals with many more countries around the world. We have already signed over 70 new deals worth £800 billion of new global trade since 2016, bringing more opportunities for businesses in the UK.
We are coming up to Remembrance Day, and to raise money for the poppy appeal I took part in the Annual Parliamentary Poppy Bike Ride! I did not win sadly, but did better than last year! Find out how you can support the poppy appeal here:

Are you an Armed Forces Veteran? I am supporting the cross-party work of the Veterans APPG in running a survey of veterans to understand their experiences of claiming financial support or compensation. Please complete if you are veteran with relevant experience.
It was great to spend some time last week helping out at another alleyways session. Thank you to all of the volunteers who have done so much work making their area a better place.
Finally, I have a surgery in Haslington booked on the 18th November. Do get in touch if you have an issue that I could help you with.
Have a great weekend.

Pocket Parks Upgrade - Have Your Say
As part of the £22.9 million Crewe Town Deal that I campaigned for, pocket parks across Crewe are going to be upgraded.
Eight pocket parks in Crewe – Queen Street, Derby Docks, McLaren Street, School Crescent, Samuel Street, Lime Tree Avenue, Valley Park and Westminster Street – will receive investment to become more attractive and better equipped spaces for people to spend time, play and enjoy physical activity.
You can view the initial concept designs for some of the parks (Queen Street, Derby Docks, McLaren Street, School Crescent) here to give you an idea of what we want to deliver:
https://www.drkieranmullan.org.uk/files/2022-11/Pocket%20Park%20Concepts%20V2.pdf
And I want your feedback on the features you most want to see! I will share this feedback with the design team to help them finalise the designs.
Please complete the survey below:

PS Don't forget we are due a brand new skate park for the Barony in Nantwich and I am working with local residents and Cllrs to see if we can get further improvements.

LBC Cross Questions
On Tuesday I appeared on LBC's Cross Question with Iain Dale.
We discussed Matt Hancock's upcoming appearance on I'm a Celebrity, this week's attack on a migrant facility, the Conservative Party's record on equality and Human rights, Government funding and teaching British History in School.

Trade Week
This week is International Trade Week.
One of the biggest advantages of Brexit is that we are now free to sign deals with more countries around the globe in a way which works for us.. The Government has been busy over the past few years securing new free trade deals with over 70 countries and is worth over £800 Billion - creating new opportunities for business all over the country.
Poppy Ride
This week I took part in the annual IPT Poppy Ride in aid of the poppy appeal.
I cycled 3.2km in 5 minutes, an improvement on last year, but sadly not enough to beat the winner Dr Ben Spencer MP who managed 4.04km!
This is all a lot of fun but also raises money for an extremely important cause.
You can donate and support the poppy appeal here:

Veterans Survey
I am supporting the cross-party work of the Veterans APPG in running a survey of veterans to understand their experiences of claiming financial support or compensation. Please complete if you are veteran with relevant experience, more information on website.
Alleyways
Great to spend a couple of hours last week helping residents, Cheshire East, Crewe town council rangers, Crewe Residents Against Fly-Tipping and 'Grot Spots' and local councillors on another alleyway session.
I was on tile weed digging duty!
Private Members Bill - Work Experience
Last week I had Harry from Malbank School come to my office for work experience. He wrote the following article about a Private Members Bill that has been passed this Parliament.
Thank you for your help!
Taxis and Private Hire Vehicles (Safeguarding and Road Safety) Act 2022:
A recent bill passed in Parliament that was put forward by Conservative MP Peter Gibson. The bill sets out to improve the safety of passengers in taxis and private-hire-vehicles (PHVs) by forcing licensing agencies in England by law, to provide information on drivers when they apply to renew, or for a new taxi or PHV licence. If there is information on the driver that could put a passenger at risk, such as personal safety concerns or concerns of dangerous driving, the licensing agency must look into the driver's history and consider it by law before handing out a licence.
Surgery
Do you have an issue that I could help you with? I shall be holding my next surgery in Haslington on Friday 18th November between 17:00 and 18:15. If you would like an appointment, please give my office a ring on 01270583432 or email kieran.mullan.mp@parliament.uk.
