This year Small Business Saturday, on 4th December, marks the end of a challenging time period for small businesses, with the Covid-19 restrictions removed and the build up to Christmas beginning I would like to acknowledge the hard work, determination and perseverance of local businesses in Crewe and Nantwich.
Throughout the pandemic, the Government has provided more than £280 billion to support lives and livelihoods. This includes:
-
Crewe Market Hall welcoming back shoppers and traders after a £3 million improvement. It is now home to a range of independent businesses, a central seating area with a stage,
which will be used for many events in the future.
-
Loans and Government-backed grants which have helped businesses facing severely decreased income due to the pandemic.
-
VAT cuts and business rates holidays for many small businesses, including those in the hospitality and retail sector.
I am asking you to put forward your favourite local businesses or even your own local business. For example, hairdressers, restaurants, bookshops, market stalls; everyone is welcome to join!
The business that receives the most votes will win a Westminster Hamper and one lucky voter will receive a voucher to spend in the winning shop.
The competition will launch on Tuesday 9th November running until Friday 3rd December, with the winning business announced on Small Business Saturday (4th December).
For any further information, please contact my office or email Kieran.mullan.mp@parliament.uk where you can vote online.
Good luck!
Kind Regards,
Dr Kieran Mullan MP
