Less than a month to go! I am focused on getting out and about and meeting as many people as I can to hear about their priorities for their MP and the next Government.
I had the chance to talk to the team at fantastic local high street business Wards Group Ltd in Bexhill about shoplifting. As a volunteer police officer I dealt with shoplifters and know the misery they cause for small businesses. I fully support the governments Retail Crime Action Plan which includes:
- A new offence of assaulting a retail worker;
- Expanding the use of electronic monitoring for prolific shoplifters;
- Maximising the use of new technologies like facial recognition for the prevention and detection of retail crime;
I will always back the law abiding against the law breakers and champion our local high streets.
